Over the years, more and more people have been choosing Canada as their top destination when migrating. There are numerous ways to apply as an immigrant to Canada, all depending on different factors.
Of all the methods available, using the Canada Express Entry System has proven to be one of the fastest. In about six months, applications routed via the Express Entry System can be processed and granted. This is one of the reasons why this method of application has become popular among immigrants.
Let’s take a look at what the Express Entry System is and how it works. If you’re considering taking this as an option, you need to be equipped with adequate information.
THE EXPRESS ENTRY SYSTEM
The Express Entry System is one of Canada’s federal economic immigration programmes that was brought into operation in 2015.
The Express Entry System was implemented as one of the ways devised to boost the Canadian economy through the immigration of skilled, experienced persons into Canada. To make the system even more organized, there are three subsidiaries under the Express Entry System:
- Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Class
- Federal Skilled Trades (FST) Class
- Canadian Experience Class
We’re not going to go into the nitty gritty of each of those classes in this post. Stay tuned to this platform and you can be sure to be updated on each of them in separate posts.
HOW DOES THE EXPRESS ENTRY SYSTEM WORK?
The Express Entry System is a point-based system i.e applicants are selected based on rankings from points earned. There are different ways to earn points in the Express Entry System. Immigrants can be ranked based on Language proficiency, work experience, academic qualification among others.
Not only do these rankings get applicants some points, they also serve as the basis of eligibility to take part in the system. Eligibility requirements vary among the aforementioned three classes under the Express Entry System.
Applicants will be required to open a profile on the Express Entry System Database where they will supply relevant information about themselves. Some of the documents that might be required could include a Language Test Result, documents attesting to educational history, comprehensive resume and the likes. You have to make sure that you have all these documents ready before you apply under the Express Entry System.
