The United States used to be the ultimate immigrant’s destination. Lots of tech workers came into the country through the H-1B visa program. Well, things have changed and it’s no longer what it used to be. The United States is no longer the perfect haven for immigrants thanks to the new immigration laws.

It’s now harder than ever to become a migrant in the US. There have been cases of people being turned back at the border, visas getting revoked and so on. Although people are still migrating to the United States, it’s no longer as easy as it used to be.

It’s even worse for illegal immigrants. They are being detained and there have been cases of families separated due to immigration laws.

Canada, on the other hand, has always been welcome immigrants with open hands. Programs like Express Entry, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Provincial Nomination Program and the rest of them give eligible immigrants an easy way to get things done. Besides, programs like these give potential migrants no reason to attempt illegal entry.

Canada is looking like a better option compared with the United States and we’ve touched this topic before. With the abundance of jobs and opportunity available, it’s looking more like the place to start a new life.
